Upcoming Conference: American Educational Research Association (AERA) 2026

On April 8-12, 2026, the CE-IDEA team will present their ongoing work at the American Educational Research Association (AERA) conference in Los Angeles, California.

Project PI Dr. Catherine Voulgarides and project assistant Jane Jeong will present their research, "Between Rhetoric and Reality: MTSS and the Systemic Contradictions of Educational Equity," with the SIG-Special and Inclusive Education Research. This work will be shared in a paper session titled “Equity, Justice, and Transformation in Special and Inclusive Education.”

Project Co-PI Dr. Alex Aylward and project PI Dr. Catherine Voulgarides will also present their research, “Centering Place and Space in Recurrent Citations for Racial Disproportionality in Special Education,” with the SIG- Law and Education. This work will be shared in a roundtable session titled “The Role of Policy and Law in Shaping Solutions to Problem of Practice in Schooling.”
